This is one of my late dogs, Kizzy.
Her mother was a show-type golden, which was my dog.
Her father was a brindle boxer. He was the neighbors’ dog.
She was black with a slight bronze tinge in the summer months. She had some white on her left hindfoot and white chest.
Most people thought she was a Labrador-boxer cross.
She had a wavy coat and a slight rough. In the winter months, it would really thicken.
She looks a lot like a St. John’s water dog. Richard Wolters found the last two St. John’s water dog’s in Canada. Check out their photos here.

She died of osteosarcoma last spring at age 11, which is not ucommon in either boxers or golden retrievers. She was a good dog, and a wonderful companion with whom to enjoy the natural world.
Today, her cross is being offered as a golden boxer, which is a designer breed. The pics of them at this website include no black dogs, which may be so if the breeders are using fawn boxers in the cross. I got my dog for free because she was from an accidental mating. And you’re spending how much for it?
I have a Golden Retriever, boxer cross and she’s amazing. I love her to death and never realized people were breeding them together on purpose, as a new breed. Ruca (our retriever/boxer cross) was also an accident and we took her for free. She’s the most loyal and obedient dog I’ve ever owned. Although her puppy years weren’t so, but who’s is? She has the same look as Kizzy although her face is black with a white snout, and brown nose. Very cute!!! (Both of them)

She was a good pet. Not very useful at hunting things, except skunks. She’s the only dog with enough guts to kill skunks on a regular basis. Now, if I hated skunks or there was some use from them as dead animals, she might have been a good working dog.
Kizzy could be my dog’s identical twin. His name is Tux. His mom was a golden retriever and his dad a brown (dark, not fawn) boxer. EVERYONE thinks he is some sort of lab mix, but he is far from it. In the sun he looks brown but inside he looks black. he’s got white toes on his hindlegs and a white patch on his chest, and also a white chin. hes got such a quirky personality… loves to knock the squirrels off the fence and he “talks” to the deer mounts in he house. I swear he understands everything i say to him. he would be good for hunting if he could calm down a little bit, but he is so hyper sometimes. and he learns so fast!! he would be a great dog to train once he matures a little bit more. by far his most favorite thing in the world is jumping off the dock after his tennis ball.

I am not a breeder, but I will eventually become one at some point in my life.
In general, I don’t think I would produce golden retriever/boxer hybrids, not because the cross is a bad pet but because they are pretty hard to place.
They aren’t goldendoodles.

I have a 3yr old male golden boxer that my family absolutely adores! Never have I had a dog that is so attractive, learns so quickly, listens so well, and absolutely LOVES his kids!!! I’ve got an 8 month old Golden Boxer that is just the joy of my life. She’s so sweet and loves to give puppy kisses to everyone she meets. She loves children and other dogs and she has so much energy I don’t know how she doesn’t spontaneously combust! No one believes she’s a Golden Boxer and even we didn’t though that’s what her papers said. We finally couldn’t stand it anymore and had a DNA test run which confirmed that she was definitely a golden boxer. Everyone thinks she’s a black lab because she’s very very dark, but in the sun, she has reddish/brown highlights. Her ears are very fluffy and her tail has the plume like a golden, but her coat is short and thick. Honestly you can’t see anything that looks like a boxer in her.
