The white dog’s name is Yuki. Pres. Johnson also had two Beagles named Him and Her (terribly original, but that’s coming from someone who has actually considered giving her dogs number names as I’ve become badly afflicted with the CRS.) Johnson got into some trouble by lifting Him up onto his hind legs by his ears, in front of the press. (I’m sure PETA would have had a field day with that.) I’m pretty sure they had some other dogs as well but I can’t remember names or breeds. Why don’t we have presidents now that have a White House full of animals?
Probably because none of them are real rural people. LBJ lived on an actual ranch that produced cattle. The last Texan in the White House had a ranch, but it’s not a working ranch by any stretch of the imagination.

I can’t imagine Obama talking about any of these things. Heck, he thought his dog was a Portuguese water hound.
