Ernest Save Christmas.
If you haven’t seen it, then you don’t know what kind of genius Jim Varney was.
He was Shakespearian actor, who started doing commercials that starred this Ernest P. Worrell character. It was one of many different charctacters that he portrayed.
He also was Jed Clampett (my favorite fictional hillbilly) in the Beverly Hillbillies movie.
(BTW, he’s not the same Ernest T. Bass. That was the fellow who was an expert on geography and “rock-chuckin'” on the Andy Griffith show. He looked a lot like Phil Collins! Maybe he was. After all, Ernest T was also a pretty good singer! )
