I can’t tell what species of monitor is fighting the honey badger. The clip switches through footage of several different species, but I can’t get a good look at the combatant monitor
Honey or ratels (as I prefer to call them) are found throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and the Indian Subcontinent. Their range overlaps with many species of monitor lizard.
I am assuming that this was filmed somewhere in Africa.
But that could be a bad assumption.
It looks like a Savannah Monitor. Bulkier Body than a Nile Monitor… Not such a long tapered head, Shorter jaw.
I’d say its a Savannah.
