As this blog continues to draw readership, I have decided to offer something new.
I have started by opening chat rooms, which has been great for generating discussion.
But I’m also aware that many readers don’t want to go on chat rooms.
So I’ve decided to set up a Facebook group for this blog.

Instead of embedding another Staffie video which would bring up so many comments, you should put one about nasty, vicious and ferocious golden retrievers destroying children’s toys… ahahah !
Not sure how many of you have seen this guy’s dog and animal photography, but it is really amazing. I just stumbled upon it, but its a lot of fun.

Those are amazing.
He must be from the South, because there are no goldens in any of the photos.
Goldens are not good Down South hunting dogs.
They overheat too easily.
It’s very hard to find a working golden south of Chesapeake Bay.
I never see them doing much down here.
I am totally totally biased, but one critical reason for the resurgance of working cockers in the GA/FL “quail belt” is that labs were having so much trouble with the heat as flush/retrieve dogs. I am sure field-bred Goldens were never even considered for the job, though the good ones would be great at it.
Seeing a dog overheat is a very scary thing. They have more “go” than brains to tell them to slow down.

S- Do you have input/info on the Irish SBT? I can’t figure it out, but i get hints that Irish political politics (Ireland/Northern Ireland may have something to do with it)
The term in quotations gets a million hits on google, but no one has updated the wikipedia page saying there is no such breed, since 2007.
I don’t know anything about Irish staffies.

I recently Started keeping clean shaven look on my Cockers. Easier to keep all the twigs and leaves from getting tangled in their coat.
Do you attend these trials with your dogs? And have any American Cockers been there?
I have never seen one at a trial, but there is a dedicated group trying to bring them back, and i know there are at least several American MH tiltle holders alive. Seems like an uphill battle to me, but whatevs.
The coat you see on those dogs is about as long as they ever get. They will feather like a setter, but not much more.
But truth be told, no normal person could be reasonalbly expected to recognize the dogs on that page as cockers. They are not particularly attractive dogs compared to bench bred enlglish and american cockers, but most of them go like hell.
My dog has a ribbon from that trial, but i am not particularly proud of it as she was handled by a professional who was FFing her at the time. I felt like a saudi racehorse owner, when i would rather have been the jockey.
