I didn’t think it sounded very annoying. But, then again, I don’t mind the sounds Guinea Fowl make and I like the Peacock calls. So maybe I’m not a good person to judge :D
Both peacocks and guinea fowl make very unpleasant sounds.
I rather like the noise Guineas make. That thing sounds like two year children playing. Love the little curls on it’s head.
I love when the great horned owls visit the neighbors’ house where the guineas roost in the trees.
It has made me a fan of great horned owls ever since they pared their flock of 24 down to 6.
reminds me of the siren on my older-brothers toy fire-truck in the late-1950s, LOL…
the meowing of peacocks contact-calling reminds me of another familiar childhood sound –
a Siamese queen calling for a tom.
and peacocks calling, just like cats in heat, or waling, screaming toms fighting, can be VERY irritating over weeks or months; our neighbor had his pair stolen; approx 3-weeks later, the male came home in a sad state, with feet worn, claw-tips broken, feathers in wings + tail smashed, under-weight + filthy;
but the hen never showed up. :no-nod:
the poor fella moped around the area, and NOW did not as before, stay home, but came to the nearby houses to call – by the hour.
he would perch 20-feet up in our English walnut in the backyard and cry from 7-pm till after 10, in full summer; it was easy to empathize, but after a couple of weeks the novelty and the empathy both wore thin.
this was farm-country, not the suburbs, but a wandering peacock is no more welcome than a neighbors cow grazing in the vegetable patch, LOL.

We had quite a few guinea hens roaming around our neighborhood for a few years. The good thing is that they eat those horrible deer ticks. They disturbed a neighbor to the point where one day we noticed that they all disappeared. …I think he was tired of being woken up at 5 AM.
I had to watch the video to listen because I didn’t think anything could be worse than guinea fowl. Boy, was I wrong.
Marcus – I was on vacation in Portugal, and the peacocks outside the window of my inn were breathtaking. But every single morning they screamed – like clockwork – and ended my wonderful dreams. Needless to say, I don’t care for the sound of peacocks!
