Do modern humans have Neanderthal DNA?
Which of course revives the debate between the Out of Africa theory and the Multiregional Hypothesis?
The consensus is the Out of Africa theory is more likely, although you’re still getting studies that suggest a multiregional origin for modern humans.
If anyone has neanderthal ancestry, I do. My own ancestral roots are in northwest Germany, not very far from where the first neanderthal man remains were found.
