I am glad they don’t weigh 60 pounds. If they did, they’d be quite dangerous.

If you get me at the wrong time at night, I sound very similar to this!

Their sounds are cool. I bet they freaked out Europeans. It reminds me a little of the fisher cat sounds we hear in Ma, or even fox calls. Both of these things tend to scare people who do not spend much time in the woods.

If you have a pissed-off Basenji, they sound amazingly like a pissed-off Tasmanian Devil! In the dark, where you can’t see exactly what is making such a noise, it can be very intimidating, despite the Basenji’s small and not very imposing appearance!
