maltese?

A guinea pig.
Its a guinea pig. Probably a “Peruvian”
Peruvian long-haired guinea pig. The length of hair just looks too long to be a maltese. It’s hard to imagine if the people showing maltese would want it to look like that.
I’ve seen some pretty exaggerated cosmetic hair pieces in dog shows, you never know.
Guinea pig, Pekingese… Embarrassingly, I’m not sure I’d know the difference in person, either!!! :)
An award winning toupee?
Seriously though-that is a lot of silver for an animal that is difficult to distinguish from a mop.
