If both Pele and Dustrack were alive today, they would be called “field-line.”
However, both clearly were within the standard.
Note the correct wavy coat on Dustrack. Such a coat is very useful in cutting through water and keeping the dog from becoming saturated.
A wavy coat is correct, if it lies properly, has the desired undercoat, and is of the right texture. Wavy coats usually do have the right texture, firm and resilient and water-repellent. But it is not the wave that makes it useful in water — it is the properties mentioned above. A straight coat, or a coat with less wave, with the same properties is equally correct.
