This was found just a few yards from the hayfields, which were cut two weeks ago.
This is a shed antler from a relatively young buck. If someone had him a scope, he would probably be a spike, but you can hang a ring on that little process, making it a full point.
So this deer was at least a three point, though definitely not magnificently crowned.
In the east. In the west you only count one side and don’t count the eye guard, so it’s still a spike by western standards.
We don’t have mule deer here, so I guess we have to have a handicap.
