   We have a 3 month old golden sheepie mix. Currently she’s all black with a white chest and starting to sprout silver hair. I see a lot of similarity in body structure to the pup in the photo.

       We adopted her through Venice Rescue. Dad was a stud OES and mom was a purebred Golden, pups were an accident. She’s 8 months, 65 pounds, and sweet as can be. People think she’s a doodle..,

     I don’t know of anyone who is intentionally crossing them.

   We have an Old English/Golden mix also. Maggie Mae was someone’s “Happy accident”. She is 3 years old and weighs in at 110lbs. She is a “Big bouncy clown” who also thinks that she is a lap dog (she actually thinks that she is human). Maggie has been certified as a therapy dog – they all call her the gentle giant. She loves people and living on the lake. Maggie can out jet ski any human out there. Maggie looks just like the one pictured above. It sounds like Shlugs looks like Maggie did as a puppy.

   I have an OES(father)/Golden(mother) mix too! What a great dog! Another accidental litter. They called them “Golden Oldies”.    I was hoping to see the picture of your “golden oldie” but the link failed. Our puppy 11 months has just started to shed, I’m curious if this is a change in her maturing coat that is temporary, seasonal or if it will keep up. Up to now she hasn’t shed. Any thoughts? Thx!

   I hope the heavy shedding is temporary, but Rita’s is still going strong at 11 months! But I wouldn’t trade her for anything. :-)

   I got one too. According to the flooding disaster in Thailand in 2011, mom went to up country for evacuation with my golden. Then I got a puppy ( only one puppy for that tern which is unusual cause I got 6 last tern) and she look like a Old English Sheep dog but all white. Now she is one year old and almost as big as her mom, 4 year old Golden, You might see there pics on my facebook, http://facebook.com/thomas.thalang.

    I am looking for an old english x retriver puppy as I have just lst mine and we are devistated .. a beautiful caring dog who was a hughe part of the family and great with the grand kids can any one help x

    Hello Su,

    We bought our OES/ Golden Retriever from a farm in Carmarthenshire near crosshands in Dec 2012. It was an accident so I’m told but they have OES and Retrievers on site. They usually breed OES pure. I’m sure if you look online you may find them. I no longer have their details. Perhaps they may have another mistake?

    Hi Su,
    I have got an OES/Golden Retriever accident from the farm close to llandeilo in December 2012. The OES mother was called Daisy (we called our pup after her) and the golden retriever father Sam had apparently jumped the wall! The mans name was Matthew and his phone number is +44782544443
    Hope this helps. Daisy is already 50% grey although only 4 months old is losing her black coat, a very happy loving playful clever dog and great with my 3 kids

      Hi jenny, we also got a female oes cross golden retreiver puppy from the same man at the same farm in llandeilo wales on 29 dec 2012! Our puppies are obviously sisters. My children named her coco! Coco is an excellent temperament, brilliant with the children. Coco is now starting to turn grey, she is a big bouncy bundle of fun and love. Coco has the strong attributes of both the oes and golden retreiver, what a great cross.

    I had a golden retriever cross old English Sheep dog.. She died last year aged 18 years. She was clever, funny, gentle and intelligent. The best dog I ever had and would love to find another.
