This would make an excellent segue into the many splendid realm of the coonhound. A breed which I’ve never owned but found quite interesting.

Is this a wild one, or a pet? Like with dogs, people breeding “pet” foxes, raccoons, etc. to make money have really been pushing less common colors. White/creme coons are really popular.

  I have no idea.
  
  Someone told me the dark ones were from Florida, and coonhunters illegally introduced them to augment our smaller numbers of raccoon.
  
  Of course, they were also blamed for getting the big rabies outbreak started.
