This cryptid has been spotted in Marion, Mason, Boone, Putnam, and Kanawha Counties in West virginia. It is called a sheepsquatch or West Virginia white thing. I prefer the latter name.
Whatever it is, it is supposed to be large– varying in size from the size of a black bear to a cow.
It is covered in shaggy white fur.
And if I saw something like this in the woods, I’d probably be heading home in fairly good order.
I have no idea what they’re seeing.
The repeating of tall tales sounds like a more likely source. It might have started from a sighting a large white opossom or unusually colored raccoon.
And then it it winds up being the size of a black bear– then a cow.
