This bitch looks exactly like my sisters old dog. We always thought she was a Golden/Irish setter cross, but now I think she was probably a field line Golden. Very sweet dog and excellent with children.

Way back in the mid-1950s, when Goldens were still a relatively rare breed, a fellow I knew had a pretty little Golden that he showed in obedience trials with much success. John had rather a sly sense of humor, and when people asked him what breed Mitzi was, he solemnly told them that she was a cross between Irish Setter and Cocker Spaniel. I wonder how many people then went looking for such a cross-bred….
