The bulldog is all bark and no bite.
I had no idea dog could shriek like that, which is probably because I’ve never had a dog with such extreme brachycephaly.
I’ve never heard any kind of dog make this sort of noise. The closest I can get to describing it is that it very closely sounds like the noises that gray foxes make. (Warning: Clicking the previous link will open an audio file, which will produce a noise that will get the attention of any dogs in the room. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.)
I bet this household has the neighbors a bit confused.
Not only do they have a shrieking French bulldog, they have a hairless crested dog.
Perhaps the neighbors think some bizarre genetic engineering experiments are going on in there.
I can’t listen to that right this minute, but I have a New Guinea Singing Dog pup who shreaks to wake the dead. If he’s inside and carrying on you can still hear him from outside the house, 40ft away. Sounds like someone torturing a cat.
oh dear you did warn us i should never have switched on the sound. what a awful noise, that set buddy of he started howling at it. stoopid frenchie fancy takeing on a cat.
Staffys make a similar high pitched screeching sound.
I’ve heard a labrador screaming like that, but less nasally. She stood on the electric fence- all I saw was a screaming yellow blur streaking past me.
i played the video and all four dogs attempted to attack the monitor. The cat just pretty much enjoyed the whole thing.
I don’t blame that cat–I would have been pissed off too.
yep staffies can do a good yowl too. we call it staffie singing, reminds me of the day i collected a female staff from the pound to take her into rescue and she spent 2 hrs sitting directly behind me yowling like that. i couldnt do anything about it as i was on the motorway. my head was ringing by the time i dropped her off at her foster home. kind of put me of transporting staffies after that.
Big Bad Frenchie! We had one once and yes, he screamed like that too. He was so smart, he was scary. I swear he understood every single word we said.
