This blog has had a record number of page views in the past month:

I had a pretty high hit year during 2010, but 2011 was a year in the doldrums.
However, in none of these months did I approach 125,000 page views in month.
This year, I broke the previous record of 108,097. The exact number of page views for this month was 125,593.
Not bad.
Most of the higher hit count can be attributed to the Crufts health check coverage, which some wag called “Pets, Lies, and Video Tape.”
I don’t think this next month will be quite as eventful, but I am getting more hits on the homepage of this blog than ever before. I was getting an average of 400-600 people viewing the homepage every day. Now, this number is something in the neighborhood of 800 to 1,000.
So if I do post something provocative, it stands a greater chance of going viral than it did before.

I’m working every day to put out a good product that you might actually enjoy reading.
It’s not easy, and although some aspects get easier over time, the actual composition is more and more of a challenge.
But I’m willing to meet it.
Or at least try.

I was so happy to find this blog- and Border Wars, then Desert Windhounds, then Prick-eared. The chorus of people who agree with you and can argue the case on their own is growing, too! You guys have been a real boon to me and my blogs.
Your scope of interests is amazing and the lessons of the wildlife profiled on your blog and your views on speciation are extremely useful for dog breeders, if they had any imagination. I personally would not research other wildlife, but I always read it when you serve it up in a post, so my mind is expanding in spite of myself.
Also the sheer number of your posts is remarkable and sure to meet someone’s google interest. I hope you get a million hits in one month- maybe this year!
