The mystery mix is a bulldog/German shepherd cross, according to the ad that was on Craig’s list. Some people were seeing a black tongue on this dog. I’m not so sure. You really can’t tell what color the tongue is.

Ugly dog.
To Dave, yes he is kinda ugly, but looks way more healthy than a pure bulldog. He can at least breathe and probably wont have quite as many joint problems later in life than a pure bred English bulldog . He’s not my cup of tea but I’m sure he’s a fine animal.
He’s quite good looking compared to the anomalies called bulldogs today. Actually, I think he’s a good looking mix. (Sorry, Dave!)
If you consider show bulldogs and show GSDs, he is way better than both. He can breath AND walk, all in one dog. Isn’t that amazing?

Like I believe what they say on CL. Shelter folks and rescue volunteers make some crazy remarks/guesses about what breeds are in a mix anyway. I was looking more at the head than tongue myself.
I think he’s actually quite handsome. Bulldog mixes are always so much more attractive than purebred bulldogs in my own opinion.
At the vet clinic where I work, we see dogs from shelters/rescues that are given “breed names” sheerly by guess. ( If it’s black and short-coated its a “lab”.
We’ve seen ‘labs’ and lab-mixes from 17 to 120 pounds, that could as well be whippets, pointers, coonhounds, border collies, or any of fifty others–or combinations of.) Some years ago I gave a seminar on breed identification to workers at a local shelter. The were astonished at the range of possibilities in pure-breds. And the superficial resemblance of many mixed-breeds to some of those breeds.
I Just Bought 2 Male puppies of this German Bully breed……. 1st is named Bully b.A.d Ass; now what to name the other?
my first instinct was chow / german mix… but i can see the bulldog body now! i think hes gorgeous. who cares what breed it is, any dog can be a life saver. SAVE ALL DOGS. SPAY AND NEUTER. CLEAR OUR SHELTERS BY NOT SUPPORTING BREEDERS!
