A survey of users of Kloof, an iPhone app that I’ve never heard of because I don’t own an iPhone, to see what owning a particular dog breed says about a person one intends to ask for a date.
The results say the following breeds are the top picks for a woman wanting to attract a man:
1. Golden retrievers
2. Labrador retrievers
3. Chihuahuas
4. Poodles
5. Beagles
However, the survey found that men view women with chihuahuas and poodles as “high maintenance.”
The top five breeds for men wanting to attract women are
1. German shepherds
2. Golden retrievers
3. Labrador retrievers
4. Siberian huskies
5. French bulldogs
The list for breeds that attract women appears to be a bit more “wolfabooish” than the one that women would use to attract men. Siberian huskies and GSD’s are look a bit like wolves. Women seem to prefer men who keep less exaggerated breeds. Only the French bulldog on this list is removed from its more natural form.
Women don’t tend to care for men who keep bulldog, pit bulls, or Rottweilers.
[W]omen view men with these breeds as less than brilliant. In fact, people see men owning a Golden Retriever as 10 times more likely to be “marriage material” than one owning a Pit Bull. Pit Bull owners are also 10 times more likely to be considered “slimy” or “sketchy” than someone who owns a Siberian Husky.
These biases may not be particularly fair, but they are there.
And one should keep in mind that I’m obviously the statistical outlier here.
So take this survey with a grain of salt.
GSD?? I’m getting another one to double my odds!! I need all the edge I can muster. And there are far too many goldens out there..market saturation et al
Odd! In the UK, GSD owners (and breeders) tend to be….well, a bit of a rough bunch. But Labradors and Retrievers have still an aura of the upper class “hunting shooting fishing” fraternity…just a suggestion of big estates.
Siberians – yes attractive.
But the only men I know with French Bulldogs are gay.

Well, in the largest ethnic group in the United States are German-Americans, and there is a lot of romance about the supposed “wolf dog of the Rhine.”
I don’t think of them as “wolf dog of the Rhine”, but to my eyes there is nothing more beautiful than a beautiful German Shepherd Dog. Of course, I like retrievers and huskies too. And poodles. Don’t care a lot for bulldogs of any type, although to be fair, most of them are nice dogs :-).
I really look at how well a man takes care of his dog(s), whether he includes them in his daily life, and whether they seem to be afraid of him or adore him.
Well, one golden will attract women, two works ok, three or more makes them run away as they understand that they’ll be way back in the list of priorities… ahahah ! (just kidding, when my wife met me, I already had 5 goldens !)
Excuse me, you can’t even tell what a Pit Bull is! This data is meaningless. Women are untrained, how the hell can they even tell a Pit Bull from a Boxer from the like 25 breeds that all look like Pit Bulls! My god, all breeds are the same, it’s just slight cosmetic differences and my mommy told me that it’s what’s inside that counts.
A wonderful vision this, of the woman going over the dog and asking for a pedigree and possibly DNA evidence before turning her attention to the man.
Take it from me, it`s the whole picture that counts. And the sight of some hoodie chav with something remotely pit – looking on the end of a chain is a real turn off.

Dudes, Caucasian Ovcharkas and Kai totally attract the men folk. Shibas only attract gay guys, doh!
I think women see german shepherds as cops/soldier and dogs that resemble pitbulls as bodybuilders on roids or violent thugs, different kinds of aggression
Oh no! Where do I fit in? I am a woman that owns both pit bulls and Siberian huskies!! (And Alaskan huskies, that are husky/pointer/saluki crosses)

Collies only attract guys Boomer-age and older; the ones who grew up watching Lassie or whose grandparents had a collie on the farm.
Nothing says “hawt” to me like a masculine looking man confident enough to walk a small floofy dog down the street. The day boyfriend (now husband) voluntarily took my Papillons for a walk “so they could enjoy the day” and walked them right down the main street was the day he sealed the deal.

I`m a woman with a Rottweiler,and dislike little dogs like Chihuahuas and toy poodles. I`m naturally drawn to dogs like Rottweilers,German Shepherds,Alaskan Malamutes and even Pit bulls more then the other breeds on the list. So a man with those breeds would be more my thing.
I`m surprised Corgis are not in the list,its kind of a middle ground breed that seems to attract females and some men,even ones that don’t like small dogs.
They have been very popular lately.
