Hmmm…how do you know it’s not the other way ’round?

      It’s hard to tell.

How could she stoop so low, my mother would have said.

As someone who has spent years dealing with (and often thwarting) the insatiable sexual drive and ingenuity of very small dogs, I am not in any way surprised by this. He may have taken a flying jump at the target and got lucky. (I have seen this happen).

She might have lay down for him – he-he! Dogs are the living embodiment of the saying where there’s a will there’s a way. If they’re ready, the ‘ladies’ are usually more than willing, whichever way the size difference goes. I knew someone who used to have a female rottweiler and a male miniature poodle. The rottie used to back up to the arm of the sofa in the hope the poodle would climb on. He was neutered, so used to ignore her giving him the glad eye. Another friend with another rottie, male this time. Her miniature pinscher used to walk backwards up the rottie’s head every time he lay down. He’d just sigh and pretend it wasn’t happening until someone removed the randy little limpet clinging to his head. He never tried mating her despite being a stud dog. Neither owners left them together on purpose, but you’d be amazed how fast a dog with sex on the brain can get through a door you’re opening.

Back when we were both still in high school, my ex-wife’s wire-haired terrier, Bumper, managed to impregnate a neighbor’s German Shepherd by standing on a stoop while the Shepherd stood on the ground. In ol’ Bumper’s defense, he was tied up, the shepherd came to him.

What would hapen if a male chihuahua were to mate with a female St.Bernard? What would the puppies be like?

      I have no idea.

And I don’t want to find out.

I don’t know, but they’d carry tequila instead of brandy in their little kegs.

I can remember a Saint-Basset cross from my childhood…that was bad enough!

        How did it look?

        • on October 1, 2012 at 11:25 am massugu

Basically like a Saint that had been cut off at the knees.

    • on October 1, 2012 at 9:05 am BearCoatPei

The mental image of the chihuahua clinging on to his personal Mount Everest is bad enough.

As Mallory said, “Because it`s there………….”
