How extremely perceptive of Sagan. And we can see the situation get worse day by day. The ongoing dumbing down of our society – not only in the USA, but everywhere. We are conditioned to shut up, watch our TV’s, play with our cellphones and gadgets and press our “like” buttons. The lights are on, but nobody’s home.

And once you start to think for yourself and say and do things that go against the popular flow, you’re labelled a troublemaker.

Vive le Troublemakers everywhere! May more of them awaken and arise!

“when no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues” This part reminded me of John McCain saying he didn’t know how to get on the internet, couldn’t even turn on a computer without his wife’s help, and that he didn’t use email.
