   Damnit,now you got me crying..
   She belonged to someone.. To be so hungry and take food so nicely,walk on a leash,ride in a car.. Yep,she belonged to someone.. wonder if they died and she was thrown out.. That worries me and is one reason I won’t get a dog. Son says he’ll take the cats,but they’re both 16,so that might not be an issue.

   Peg, you could adopt an older dog. Older dogs have trouble finding a home and someone to love them. Even if you were only going to live a few more years, that would be a few more years of life for the older dog.

   And you are likely to outlive an 8 or 10 year old dog, yes?

   Sad. I hope it ends well for them. Nice dogs needing a home.

   I noticed the white fur and blue eyes, could that be part of why she contracted mange?

   Her owner might have been living in that dump too. Her might of reported her when he realized that she was beyond his ability to help.

   On the rescue topic, a lady where I used to work went on holiday (vacation) to the Greek island of Corfu where stray dogs survive by begging off tourists at street tavernas. Anyway, this delightful colleague of mine was a ‘soft touch’ and a particular little dog started following her around the village on the island where she was staying – and immediately there was a connection. To cut a long story short, my colleague arranged for the dog to be cared for while she returned to England there to arrange the formalities for importing this lucky stray. All of us at work were interested by this time and when the canine ‘immigrant’ was released from prison (I mean quarantine) it was introduced to us at the office one lunchtime. One clever little dog!

   She reminds me of Mika with my mom’s Chihuahua.
