Well, she is over the top, but she does have a point. Meat animals are generally treated inhumanely in this country. I am for the humane treatment of food animals, and I’m willing to pay more or eat fewer animals products to achieve this goal. Nevertheless, putting on a “show” like this will only cause people to laugh at her very emotional response. A topnotch actress could have pulled this off.

Yeesh. This sort of display is exactly the reason why people don’t want to listen to animal welfare concerns. It alienates them and talks down to them.

I have a hard enough time convincing people that they should consider where their food comes from, without people like her gumming up the works.

  And there are legitimate welfare concerns, especially with poultry, which are often exempt from many animal welfare regulations.
