An Eastern cottontail rabbit decided to pose for the camera:
This rabbit is a much lighter tan than I normally see, and because it’s such an unusual color, I think it might actually be an Appalachian cottontail, rather than the more common Eastern cottontail. The two species are hard to tell apart, and I am far from any kind of expert on rabbits.
I’ve seen that color here in Michigan bunnies, as well as the more brownish shade.
