Cammie has learned to do some behaviors.
She learned these behaviors by being choked down, flipped on her back, and generally dominated in every way.
You just can’t train Jack Russells any other way.
Actually, you can see how she learned how to do these behaviors. It’s not rocket surgery.

These videos bring to mind all those dog experts who have castigated me for using food rewards when dog training. Bottom-line: food rewards (with other positive reinforcement) work–as can be seen here. Eventually, the behavior becomes automatic and in the meantime everyone involved has an enjoyable time.

I’m sure that I’d like to comment on this and discuss how different methds of dog training work best with various types of dogs, the importance of matching the type of training the owners wants to use with the type of dog that learns well with that method, – we can all agree tht some dogs are so sensitive that a sharp “NO” inhibits them, while other dogs are not phased by sharp treatment, and that while most dogs like treats even just being handed a piece of dog food from their free feed dish, some dogs ignore treats just wanting praise and a pat,
The problem with my commenting on the video/photo is that i no longer have my old computer, and while this mobile type works best here for me, i find that i cant view video and strangely while i can comment here, i cant get the comment box, load more, or reply, to work on some other blogs, for example Pedigree Dogs Exposed blog doesn’t work on this machine yet. So i hope i fit in here.

You have to get them (jr terriers) as puppies so that they will not chase the house cat and see it as part of the family, right?
