   I believe he EARNED his. I really wish this blog would at the least maintain it’s more informing and at least science/historical based posts on any political posts rather than simply indulging in cheap shots. The horse isn’t any different from the other Olympic horses — most of them are owned (as is the “Romney” horse) by a group of people or privately. Most of them are expensive. So what? And Gore’s house cost HOW much? http://publicintelligence.net/al-gores-home-address/? I didn’t see anone making an issue about how much more than the average American’s his home is. How many “vacations” has Obama taken on the public’s expense? 16 isn’t it? http://washingtonexaminer.com/michelles-ski-trip-marks-16-obama-vacations/article/294051 — and yes, Bush took more. And we all agree he was a jerk. Obama however, has cost far more than Bush. while he may be “your” man, his fun trips cost a lot more than a horse that was used as part of the Olympic representation by the US.

     He earned it by being born into a major political family, who then got him into elite prep schools and then Harvard. If he hadn’t been born there, he would not have been able to become a venture (or vulture) capitalist.

     His dad actually DID earn it.

     But the truth is this guy was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and he was able to take advantage of those opportunities.

     However, the way in which he made his money, if you want to call piracy, earning it, well, so be it.

     But he was essentially a raider without a Jolly Roger.

     He crippled companies, raided pensions, and generally did things that defame free enterprise.

     I don’t think free enterprise means looting, but Romney et al use that as a smokescreen.

     If I turned this into a political blog, you’d REALLY hate it. If I explained to you the real reason why I don’t vote Republican, even though my ancestors, as supporters of the Union Army during the Civil War in West Virginia did, it would probably upset more people.

     So I’m just gonna joke around. If you don’t like the political stuff, just ignore it. The chances of you changing my mind are nil, and the same with me changing yours.

     What’s going to “cost” us is what the GOP plans to do to Social Security and Medicare. Cost of vacations is just a red herring. I have nothing against rich people – let them own cars and horses (which, by the way, provide jobs) unless they are trying to stick it to me. Don’t tell me I can’t use my government to provide or protect retirement benefits or to ensure civil rights or the rights of workers. If that interferes with what you take to be your “liberty”, then too bad.
     Sorry, R’man. You might want to bleep this one.
