     Yeah, because of its heavy snowfall, South Carolina is known for its sled dog racing.

   In spite of what the local wildlife departments say–there are many sightings by reputable persons that there are big cats moving into areas they haven’t been in for many years. The usual ones seen are the regular tan color, but there have been quite a few black ones seen, also. It’s also like the sightings of Armadillos as far north as the Dakotas. They are getting pushed further because of loss fo habitat and availability of food sources.

     The Manchester Panther, a big black cat, is a local legend in this part of Michigan. Dunno how it would get along with the coyotes.

       Probably eats them.

       There are cougars that have come to specialize in coyotes, and leopards in India and Sri Lanka have been known to live on dogs as well.

         Yeah, I think coyotes would just be a handy snack! I live in Grand Coulee, WA, and in the last couple of years there has been a cougar (and bears) sighted around town. There also don’t seem to be as many outdoor cats as you would expect. There is abundant wildlife to support one here, plenty of deer, etc, but domestic animals to choose from. Our dogs have had several occasions where they won’t go out in the yard at night, or sit right at the door and bark. I suspect something is “out there” and it’s big enough to scare to noisy barkers!
