What was this famous dog’s name? Yuki. Luci Johnson found the little mongrel at a Texas gas station during the Thanksgiving holiday. The dog was named Yuki, which means snow in Japanese. LBJ had a special relationship with this little dog and would often engage in “singing” session with her.
Bonus points if you can name two other dogs that lived with this dog. I was looking for the dogs named Him and Her, but there was another beagle named Little Beagle Johnson (initials LBJ so it would fit with other members of the family–Lady Bird Johnson, Lynda Byrd Johnson, and Luci Baines Johnson.)
Another bonus point if you can tell me what happened to one of these dogs that got their owner in a lot of trouble. LBJ picked up him by the ears to make him stand on his hind legs in front of the White House press corpse. Him barked and yelped, which Johnson said was good for beagles. He got in big trouble over this, but it was something like when Mitt Romney told the story about taking his Irish setter on a family road trip.
And another bonus point if you can name a third dog that also lived with this family. I was looking for the name of the the white collie named Blanco, but there was also another beagle named Edgar. Edgar had been given to the Johnsons by J. Edgar Hoover.
